Party leaders vote - shock

Shocking footage of party leaders "voting" has emerged. Shown on all news outlets and the ITV News Channel today, Tony Blair, Michael Howard, Charles Kennedy and others were seen walking towards their local polling stations and performing what was described by onlookers as "the act of voting".

"I was really shocked to see Blair voting earlier," said an eyewitness in Sedgefield. "I thought he was above all that. He's really gone down in my estimation now. If I hadn't already sold my postal vote I'd vote against him now."

Other outraged viewers complained that the politicians dragged their families along as well. "It's bad enough that they have to pose outside these places, but forcing their wives and children to go with them? It's just wrong," said pensioner Brenda Shuttleworth.

The scenes were broadcast live on Sky News and flagged up as "breaking news", a "news flash", an "election update", and "bloody exciting" with a set of enormous overlapping graphics that obscured all but a postage stamp-sized part of the picture.

So disgusting was the footage that over a dozen people have so far complained to media regulator Ofcom. A spokesman said that they would investigate the complaints fully and do nothing regardless of their conclusions.
