August 2002 Prescott "proud" of green record 15 Aug 2002 John Prescott today said that he was "proud" of his green record. According to the Deputy PM, he bought the record from a market stall in Hull during the summer of 1975. Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, he told of how much the unusual LP meant to him, despite it being branded by experts as "a complete fake". The BBC has meanwhile denied dumbing down its flagship political programme into "a cheap version of Desert Island Disks". Bush "like Churchill" 29 Aug 2002 George W Bush is like Winston Churchill, it was revealed yesterday by US defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld. The news came as a shock to many, but for some political experts the similarities are clear. "Bush is exactly like Churchill was in the 1930s," said New York cabbie Gregory T T F N Mullet. "He comes out with all these great sayings that everybody remembers like, you know, well... and he he's respected by everyone and...er...well yeah, he's just a really great guy. I mean what did Churchill ever do for anyone?" Babies are "trying to talk" 30 Aug 2002 Scientists in the United States and Canada have found that the sounds babies make are attempts to talk. Surprisingly, babies may be trying to form coherent sentences from an early age. Despite the findings, though, researchers have yet to discover an ability to form coherent sentences in John Prescott.
