Doctor Shortage Solved
24 Nov 2001
The government announced new measures to improve the NHS today. Speaking from Ward 22 of Chesterfield Hospital, a corridor on the ground floor, Health Secretary Alan Milburn proudly told journalists squeezed between the trolleys, "We admit there is a shortage of doctors in the NHS, but at last we are going to do something about it."
According to the Department of Health, the lack of doctors in the NHS is "entirely due to the number of TV doctors. If doctor's didn't spend so long in TV studios, we'd have a lot more of them in hospitals!" Following the new research, doctors will now be "banned" from appearing on TV, "except for that one on GMTV because we like him".
How cool is this?
