Financial experts in London today revealed "really really exciting" new research about the state of our economy to the public, mass media, and a misplaced goat. According to Gregory T Mullet and his team of bored stockbrokers, financial advisors and London Cabbies, consumer confidence has not been dented since September 11th and in the run up to Christmas.
Disappointingly for Gordon Brown, though, Mr Mullet says that the continued spending is not due to the state of the economy. "Of course this is not all down to Brown," he said while noisily slurping soup through a straw. "It's because people don't understand the economy. They don't know about all this inflation and recession business - hell even I don't understand it - they just want to do their Christmas shopping. Damn, I think I've spilt it on my tie."
