Mullet Grief
29 Jan 2002
There was an outpouring of grief around the world today, as people learnt about Gregory T Mullet OBE's death. As DeadBrain first announced yesterday, the famous Bring Back Ann Widdecombe Campaign co-ordinator was shot dead outside his home in Wetwang, East Yorkshire, resulting in a great deal of sadness and some rare publicity for Wetwang.
Perhaps the hardest hit were a group of people living on a small island in the Pacific who describe themselves as "DeadBrain groupies and international cheese procurers". According to their spokesman, Witchdoctor Douglas Ramsbottomongo, the entire island is "extremely upset". In a message sent via carrier pigeon, which arrived several hours late due to the air traffic control difficulties in London, he spoke of the "extraordinary grief" and "mangos" experienced by his fellow islanders.
Meanwhile, several major politicians have failed to make a public statement about Mr Mullet's death, the BBC have yet to announce a tribute programme, and the Chinese Olympic swimming team are still unable to swim in a straight line.
