  Excitement At Local Elections
Excitement is sweeping the country tonight as the local council elections draw to a close. Voting has taken place for almost six thousand council seats and, for the first time, seven elected mayors who will follow in the footsteps of London Mayor Ken Livingston.

"The excitement is almost unbearable," giggled one man voting in Doncaster. "I just can't wait for the results to come in tonight. I'm going to watch them on television all night!"

Other voters were equally enthusiastic at the prospect of electing their councillors. "I've been looking forward to voting all year," said a woman coming out of a polling station in Swindon. Her friend, who appeared to have a dead ginger cat on her head, told us, "I'm just the same. Politics really excites me!"

Experts are predicting record turnouts as the government trials voting by mobile phone and the Internet. "I honestly think people will want to vote after they see how much fun it can be," enthused DeadBrain's political correspondent, Gregory T Mullet. "Perhaps by tonight we will finally have reversed the trend of voter apathy."

DeadBrain will have full coverage of the elections tomorrow, along with details on how excited Peter Snow was.

Go on, have a look at this...
