| | Music festival passes off peacefully

An estimated 50,000 people gathered in Cleethorpes last night for a special birthday concert. Feel the Turkey on the Pier Live was held in honour of the popular news satire website "DeadBrain", which is celebrating its first birthday this weekend.
Revellers gathered on the town's pier, where a huge stage had been erected, and on the promenade and beaches to dance into the early hours of the morning. "It was an amazing night," said an awestruck teenager from Cobham, Surrey. "It took me all day to get here but it was worth it. I'll never forget seeing Ann Widdecombe on bass guitar."
Many big names in music and entertainment performed at the concert, which was free to everyone who attended. One of the most popular acts was former Conservative leader William Hague, who sang a collection of songs from the musical Annie. Other performers included the Michael Ancram Band, Charles Kennedy on the violin and John Prescott on the drums.
The event's organisers, however, say the party nearly didn't go ahead. "It was a close run thing," said Gregory T Mullet, from events company Ramsbottom & Moore. "The police were concerned that there would be trouble from the Bring Back Ann Widdecombe Campaign, but in the end we persuaded them. They just couldn't resist."
Despite the unexpectedly high number of people who turned out, the event passed off peacefully, save for John Prescott starting a fight with some Morris dancers. The turkey, which was felt over a thousand times, is recovering in private.
Wow, look at this!
