| | Controversy at Commonwealth Games

Controversy surrounds the Commonwealth Games this afternoon after it was revealed that Neighbours is to be cancelled for their duration. In a shock announcement by the BBC, a spokesman told the popular Australian soap's millions of fans that there "isn't time" to show it as well as indoor women's table tennis.
"This is an outrage!" cried Douglas Ramsbottom MP, Chairman of the Commons Australian Soaps select committee, upon hearing the revelation. "The BBC should be ashamed of itself. Who cares what happens when some of the world's top athletes get together in Manchester to compete? I want to see what happens to the fit blonde one who got dumped!"
The Speaker, Michael Martin MP, has so far denied requests for an emergency debate on the situation, which according to some TV analysts could lead to "serious violence and even rioting".
This looks good...
