| | Blair's punctuation challenge
3 Jul 2002
It has emerged this afternoon that Tony Blair is fighting back in the Presidential PR stakes. Following the widely reported examination of President Bush's colon last week, Downing Street aides have let slip to our man in the mac that Mr Blair is to have his comma investigated. Then, if that doesn't grab enough headlines, the PM will have his "entire range of punctuation" put under the spotlight.
Mr Blair's chief spin-doctor, Alistair Campbell, flatly denied the allegations in a statement this afternoon.
However, cape-wearing political experts have called the rumours "extremely worrying". "This is the latest in a long line of PR stunts designed to get the PM onto the front pages," said Douglas Ramsbottom-man. "Hark at my x-ray specs," he added.
This looks good...
