Dubya's War

9/11 remembered
As a mark of respect on the anniversary of September 11th, news satire websites across the DeadBrain office today failed to update with new satirical content. Gregory T Mullet, the editor-in-chief of "DeadBrain", one such website based in the DeadBrain office, muttered exclusively to DeadBrain this afternoon. "It's a respect thing," he said solemnly. "It's not every year that we get a September 11th, so this year we're marking it by not updating our website. We thought it would be a special thing to do."

Douglas Ramsbottom, lead writer for another news satire website which was found this morning to be based in the DeadBrain office and has since been "brutally ejected", agreed with Mr Mullet. "We're not just lazy," he assured our body-builder security guard as he was forcefully removed from the premises. "We really do mean this as a mark of respect. Now will you please put me down?"

Meanwhile, staff at the popular news satire website "DeadBrain" are said to have taken the news that there could be further attacks today "in a calm and collected manner". Speaking from his underground bunker while surrounded by bodyguards and a sheep farmer called Dave, Chief Executive Lord Gregory T Mullet Snr may have assured anyone standing near him that he wasn't at all scared, but the rubber chemical suit and gasmask he was wearing unfortunately obscured his speech.

Writers at the website's main headquarters were equally unfazed, saying that barricading the doors and doing their work from underneath their desks while wearing saucepans on their heads was "standard practice" on a Wednesday.
