 Royal train could be decommissioned
The royal train should be decommissioned, the head of the public accounts committee has said. According to the committee's chairman, Edward Leigh MP, the train is too expensive and underused by the royal family. More cost-effective means of transporting the royals are available, he added.

Speaking exclusively to DeadBrain, transport "expert" Douglas Ramsbottom agreed. "A single journey on the royal train costs an average of £35,000," he explained. "Even compared to Virgin Trains that isn't cheap. And then there's the number of journeys it makes. Last year it only made 17 ? that's almost as few as Arriva. To be honest I don't think the train is fit for the queen."

Despite only making a few journeys on her train each year, the Queen is said to be unwilling to give it up just five years after the royal yacht was retired. Ministers are now looking at cheaper methods of transporting the royals around the country, including on budget airline Easyjet, in a Pope-like "Queen Mobile" and in the old BBC One balloon.
