Dubya's War

Blair in Camp David for talks
Tony Blair flew out to Camp David to hold talks with President Bush yesterday, amid speculation that a war against Iraq is drawing ever closer. On the agenda were a variety of security-related issues, reportedly including when to bomb Iraq, when to send in ground troops, and what colour ties the two leaders would wear when they do so.

The talks, however, attracted the criticism of the Liberal Democrats. "Who is this 'Camp David'?" asked defence spokesman Paul Keetch. "It's not a very P.C. name – perhaps the prime minister could refer to him as 'Homosexual David' or 'Heterosexually-challenged David' in future? And besides, what's he got to do with anything?"

Meanwhile, the prime minister's offer to pay in blood to maintain the "special relationship" between Britain and the US has been declined by a senior member of the Bush administration. "We've got enough blood on our hands already, we don't need yours as well," declared Bill Gates at a press conference this morning. "And besides, your blood gives people CJD. We do accept all major credit cards, though, if that's any help."
