Satire website renounces satire, becomes Bush tribute site
Partially dismembered news satire website "DeadBrain" this morning announced that it renounced satire, parody and news-related humour of all varieties at a surprise press conference. Speaking to a crowd of dishevelled and drunken journalists outside the gates of the Houses of Parliament, the site's editor, Douglas Ramsbottom, said that his staff had developed "a conscience".

"Making fun of the people in charge of our country and others is not big, it's not clever and it's not right," he ranted, foaming slightly at the mouth. "The President of the United States is not an imbecile, he is a very clever and intelligent man who deserves our full respect and praise for carrying out a carefully-planned and morally justified war against an evil dictator who threatens the very future of mankind."

From tomorrow, the web site will begin publishing articles heaping sickening praise on Messrs Bush, Blair, Blunkett, Brown, Rumsfeld, Powell and other government figures while pouring scorn on those who dare criticise them, including Robin Cook and Clare Short. A series of special videos congratulating the men on their ethical foreign policies is to follow, many of which will be given away free as a gesture of thanks.

Mr Ramsbottom denies that the sudden shift in editorial policy will be detrimental to the site. "Our readers are 100% behind us in this change," he told DeadBrain. "They, like us, have had a change of heart since the start of the war. Many of them have been crying openly in public at the sight of President Bush fudging his lines. We know they back our politicians and they back us. I'm sure we can count on their support."

Mr Ramsbottom has invited anyone who disagrees with the change of policy to email him at this address.
