After Saddam

Saddam was in league with Bin Laden, IRA, Labour and former Spice Girl says newspaper
The Sunday Telegraph has uncovered evidence it says proves the link between al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq. According to documents found in an abandoned building, Iraqi intelligence officials had sought to arrange a meeting with Osama Bin Laden and one of his envoys had visited Iraq.

"This is absolutely conclusive proof that we were right to go to war," said an excited passing government spokesman, leaping on the chance to comment without really being asked. "We were right all along. Saddam and Bin Laden worked together to plot the end of the free world. You were all so wrong."

This is not the only revelation about Iraq to come from the Telegraph stable this week. Its sister paper, the Daily Telegraph, reported that Labour MP George Galloway was receiving payments from the former Iraqi regime. Today, the list of shocking revelations is set to grow.

Surprising new evidence, to be published in the Daily Telegraph today, will show that not only was Saddam Hussein attempting to recruit Osama Bin Laden, but also had dealings with Russian intelligence services, Labour Party HQ, the owner of a popular rival newspaper, Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams and the singer Geri Halliwell.

"It's not as far fetched as it sounds," explained Telegraph reporter Douglas McRamsbottom. "Bin Laden hates America, Saddam hates America. The Russians had frosty relations with America for years, so did Saddam. Except when they sold him weapons. The Labour Party... well, the advantages of going to war for them are pretty obvious. Piers Moron [editor of the Daily Mirror] is a git, so is Saddam. Gerry Adams is an evil man, so is Saddam. And Geri Halliwell... well, I don't like her and I don't like Saddam. What more proof do you need?"

All six of the latest defendants are expected to join Mr Galloway in suing the Telegraph shortly.
