Bush disappointed with visit to "Simpsons set"
George W Bush was reportedly disappointed with his visit to the Prime Minister's constituency of Sedgefield today as he had been led to believe it was in fact Springfield, the home of the Simpsons. According to sources close to the President, he had been expecting to see hoards of yellow cartoon characters milling around outside Tony Blair's constituency home, but was disappointed to find only a few local anti-war protestors and approximately half a million police officers and secret service agents.

"The President was very disappointed to start with," said our man on Air Force One. "He was especially looking forward to meeting Bart Simpson. He's often tried to imitate his skateboarding but with little success. He was hoping to get some tips."

Obviously sensing Mr Bush's disappointment, one prankster called the pub where he had his lunch with Mr Blair and asked for someone called "Bea O'Problem". However, security advisers with Mr Bush reportedly threw themselves on top of him "to avoid any embarrassment on the President's behalf". The Prime Minister, a long-time Simpsons fan, choked on his drink "out of shock, and not because he was in hysterics", a Downing Street spokesman later confirmed.

Later, on a visit to Sedgefield Community College, Mr Bush had to be consoled by his wife, Mrs Bush, when he was told that a tour of Principal Skinner's office would not be possible. Mr Bush is now on his way back to the White House where he will be comforted by staff armed with DVDs.
