British Tennis Association condemns Canadian "druggie"
9 Jan 2004 by Flash Gorman
The British Tennis Association has condemned the behaviour of the Canadian star Greg Rusedski. In a scathing attack the association hit out at Rusedski for bringing the sport into disrepute after he failed a drugs test.
The British number two, Douglas Ramsbottom, backed the association's stance. Speaking at a conference to celebrate his, literally overnight, promotion from number 7,232 to number 2 in the British rankings, Mr Ramsbottom said: "It's a shame that Greg felt he had to stoop this low but at least British tennis is whiter than white. Remember kids, winners don't take drugs."
"And neither do mid placed also-rans," he added as he high-fived fellow tennis star Tim Henman.
