 Blair released on bail after WMD hoax21 Jan 2004
A British man was released on bail today after he allegedly made a hoax WMD report. Tony Blair, of no fixed abode, had been arrested after he repeatedly told "everybody" that there was WMD in his Baghdad, a claim that has since been proven false. Friends of Mr Blair insist that his claims were a harmless joke, but the authorities see it differently.
"This is a very serious matter," said Douglas Ramsbottom, a baggage handler at Heathrow Airport. "We're all on high alert after September 11th, and people going around making claims about bombs causes a lot of trouble, whether they are true or not." The airport was surrounded by tanks in the aftermath of one of Mr Blair's claims. A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said that it too had been affected by Mr Blair's alleged claims. "We instantly reacted to Blair's allegations by invading Iraq and toppling Saddam Hussein," he said. "Now it turns out it was all a hoax I don't know what we're going to do. I guess we'll have to take what's left of our army home again." Gregory T Mullet, Mr Blair's former schoolteacher, told DeadBrain that his alleged hoax WMD report was out of character. "It's very unlike him, he was always such a sensible boy," he said. "Recently he's been hanging around with some of the more unruly American exchange students – I think they probably egged him on to do it. It's not his fault really." Lord Hutton, who is hearing Mr Blair's case, will announce his verdict next Wednesday.
