PopeWatch: Fox call Pope

Media giant Fox News proudly announced they were first to air the sad announcement of the Pope's death at 9:30 this morning.

In a leader on their website Fox claimed Pope John Paul II had fallen into a coma and died serenely three years ago. Officials at the Vatican were quick to deny the allegations and challenged Fox to explain.

A senior editorial figure in Fox News admitted the story had "no basis in fact", but nonetheless was true and they could prove it.

To maintain their new found reputation as "first to air on all important papal matters" Fox are expected to name the successor to Pope John Paul II later today.
