France surrender in Germany (again)

The French continued their nation's proud history of throwing in the towel yesterday by heroically drawing their second round game against soccer minnows South Korea. The glorious tie is their latest abject failure in a fiercely guarded eight-year long winless campaign at the tournament.

The perennial surrender monkeys bravely submitted to their opponents, squandering a one goal lead, after leading for most of the match. Clearly unfazed by their superior passing and stronger style of play, the Gallic chokers courageously rolled over, allowing the Koreans back into the match through a typically cowardly French team effort.

"Our country has a long and well documented history of giving up when the French Fries are down," said one beret wearing person. "We are not genetically geared to acts of courage, especially when Germany is involved."

Thierry Henry, who lists shrugging and saying 'quoi?' amongst his hobbies, had put France ahead with his first half strike, in a rare display of French guts. "I've been in England too long," the Arsenal striker moaned after the match.

But Henry's team-mates had other ideas, and in a Vichy-stlye manoeuvre, they collectively conspired to surrender their advantage by letting Park Ji Sung score in the 79th minute.

Never ones to allow inferior opposition to get in the way of avoiding victory the French national side then fearlessly continued their dismal display right up until the final whistle.

France's next game is against the mighty Togo, a coach-less team, rife with infighting and with little experience on the world stage to call upon. However, this is not thought to have deterred the French team from already flying the white flag and offering terms of surrender to the tiny African nation.
