Parents are being warned to watch out for extremist behaviour by Home Secretaries. Examples such as attempts to restrict trial by jury, lock people up without trial for a few months and force every man, woman and child to have an ID card, have been cited as evidence that Britain's Home Secretaries are becoming radicalised and present a growing danger to the British people's freedoms."Our fight is not with Home Secretaries generally," said Douglas Ramsbottom, a Muslim community leader in Bootle. "This is a struggle against extremism – yes, we must combat extremism within our communities, but we must also stand up to extreme Home Secretaries who want to lock everyone up."
John Reid, who recently won a competition to find New Labour's "hardest" Home Secretary by "nutting" Jack Straw at a private party, responded to the warning with a counter-warning of his own. "Beards present a real and present danger to the security of this country," he said. "Anyone who grows a beard without a permit will be detained by police."
"This includes David Blunkett," he added.
Professor Gregory T Mullet, a world authority in slightly mad Home Secretaries and a close friend of Michael Howard, told DeadBrain that Dr Reid shows the "tell-tale signs of brainwashing". "He's probably spent some time in the company of Tony Blair," he said, "and I'm certain he's been watching a lot of bad American action films. It's only a matter of time before anyone who looks like Alan Rickman is automatically arrested."
