MPs: Afghanistan needs more foreign interference

A committee of MPs has expressed "utter disbelief" that more countries haven't offered to send troops to be slaughtered in Afghanistan. The House of Commons Defence Committee called on NATO to round up some foreigners to help spread out the bad news when people are killed or maimed.
"Currently, every fatality coming out of Afghanistan is from the UK," Des Browne explained weaselly. "It's simple logic, if we had, say, Belgian, Italian and French soldiers the toll would be shared, diluting the consternation amongst UK voters."
"I mean, who cares about dead Belgians," he joked off the record, "We barely care about alive ones!"
James Apparthurai, chief spokesman for Nato, denied things were as bad as all that, claiming that things "weren't as bad as all that".
"So, UK troops haven't got enough equipment," he shrugged, "and the NATO force is made up of four Germans and an Albanian." Another shrug.
Stretching back in his chair he yawned, "Shouldn't have voted that Blair in then, should you?"
